Providing practical and personalized medical kits to refugees and asylum seekers.

Aid the Journey, Inc. (ATJ) is a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization providing outreach to refugees, other forcibly displaced youth and their guardians. Our public charity delivers free medical grade supplies, feminine hygiene kits, and educational materials to asylum seekers.

During the pandemic, it became evident how much of a symbolic band-aid the bandages we were distributing were for the community. While we are committed to continue to cover life's little health emergencies, we see a vital need for our extension into long-term, preventative care for the refugee community in Clarkston and ultimately New Jersey and NYC. We began this venture through flu shot clinics partnering with Kids' Doc on Wheels to supply free flu vaccinations to refugee children and their parents. After the success of these events, we have been eager to continue to provide information about vaccine safety to reduce understandable hesitancy towards vaccinations by some refugee populations. Further, as a member of the Clarkston Health & Vaccine Access Coalition, we collaborate with community partners to support bimonthly vaccine clinics to reduce the spread of COVID-19 transmission.
