Pilgrimage to stand in solidarity with refugees
Article by Andrew Nelson who featured my friends and me (Marist School students in Atlanta, GA) in the club “Share the Journey.” We organized a 5 mile pilgrimage from Decatur to Clarkston to raise awareness about the perilous journeys refugees and asylum seekers face everyday. The Georgia heat had nothing on our lifted spirits, determined to show our dedication to the refugee community in our state. Click the photo to check out the article!
“Share the Journey” is supported by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Charities USA and Catholic Relief Services. The campaign responds to Pope Francis’ call to share a journey with all neighbors—not only those who live near us or look like us. Marist School, which organized the walk, is a Catholic Relief Services Global High School. For information, go to sharejourney.org.
